Introduction post of the "News in Jest" series.

‘Are you listening?’ I queried.

‘My dear! I always listen to you!’

‘Aha! I know! Don’t get me started on that topic.  First, you listen to what I have to say,’ I responded.

‘Tell me’

‘I am writing a series,’ I replied happily.

‘Hmmm.’ he murmured.

‘What Hmmm? You have nothing to say?’ I retorted in a huff.

‘I thought you will continue and give details,’ hubby added hurriedly.

‘Well, it's title is “News in Jest.” How is the caption?’

‘News? What are you going to write about News? We have numerous newspapers and umpteen channels to give us news, so what is it you are adding to the plethora of news available?’

‘Well, for the past two years, we have been only reading and listening to depressing news about Covid. how many affected, how many died, how many recovered etc. etc. Just when we thought Covid has abated, a new wave hit us and again we were back to lockdowns and quarantines, numbers, problems faced by people, vaccines, getting vaccines, not getting vaccines, how to get vaccines, etc. etc.’

‘In between we read about price rise, inflation, terrorism, and very recently the Russia-Ukraine war, economic and political crisis in neighbouring countries. So, whether it is newspaper or the various news media channels, we are hearing only sad, depressing news.’ I ended my long explanation.

‘Then why are you adding to the depressing news?’

‘Well, I plan to write about news that are positive, some funny, some quirky that will bring a smile to reader’s countenance.’

‘That’s a good idea,’ hubby acknowledged. ‘When are you starting this blog, series?’

‘Well, I wanted to start on 2nd April but…’ I hesitated.

‘2nd April? On Ugadi day, our new year? Good day to begin, but that was last week,’ hubby wondered aloud.

‘But I haven’t received confirmation yet,’ I said slowly.

‘Confirmation? What confirmation? From whom?’

‘Well, I asked HIM and he has just responded,’ I whispered softly.

‘Who is HIM?’ hubby asked perplexed.

‘Yogi Webanand. He is a mystic scholar and an expert on all web and internet connected matters. He is a scholar of both the physical and the metaverse. I was introduced to him a few months back and so impressed in my first interaction.’

‘When did you meet him? You never mentioned about him,’ hubby queried.

‘I met him virtually, so you are not aware. He resides somewhere in the Aravali Mountain range and gives his disciples whatever help they need.’

Hubby hit his forehead in exasperation.

‘So, you are awaiting his consent to start a blog! How will he communicate to you?’

‘Well, he normally holds a webinar and speaks to all his disciples but as mine is an individual case, he replied me through his email’ I added, ‘he asked me to start this week and gave his blessings’

‘And what is his email Id?’ hubby asked in exasperation.

‘rammahagita @ webanand.com. I replied.

Hubby declared, ‘this is indeed a “News in Jest”.’
